I've been thinking about transitions a lot lately. Having a baby will do that to a person! After 9 long months, baby Sylvie Dalia transitioned to the outside world, increasing our family head count by 50% and increasing the love exponentially. 'Tis the season of transition: summer is transitioning to autumn, and Aaron and I are transitioning to parenthood (although transition tends to imply a period of time in which one is able to make adjustments; parenthood is quite the opposite...suddenly this little tiny baby's life is thrust into your hands, immediately after a long labor and no sleep!).
I've been thinking about this post for quite some time, but actually finding time to clean up and dress up in the presence of another person (to take photos) has presented itself to be an incredible challenge! I found myself changing a poopy diaper in this white dress right before we shot a few photos...luckily, I (believe) I came out of it unscathed. You'll also notice that we were only able to go as far as my doorstep to take pictures--couldn't leave the bambina on her own!
I've done a summer-to-fall outfit transition using the same centerpiece (white dress). Though I love colors and patterns, it's nice to have a few neutral pieces in my wardrobe to play with.
I'm learning to dress my post-baby body; please be forgiving, folks! I hope you all are doing well and I cannot tell you how happy I am to be back in the blogosphere!

Sunday Stripes
Nothing much to report here...just, you know, FREAKING OUT that we are now less than four weeks away from baby's due date. Sitting in a 7-hour intensive birth class yesterday didn't do much in the way of pacifying the psyche...
This morning we had a plethora of errands to run, so we decided to power up at Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen before facing the insanity one knows as Trader Joe's on a weekend.
I'm wearing my new Frye boots that I purchased at Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale. I've kept the catalog at my nightstand for weeks, and most nights before bed I would sneak a peek at these boots. It had been months since I had bought myself anything new, and I was counting the days until I could buy these! They are the most comfortable boots ever; it's all I can do not to sleep in them! The dress was one of my first maternity purchases; I'm surprised I haven't posted it before now. It's very comfy and I feel like I've worn it a thousand times, but I really didn't want to throw down too much cash on my maternity wardrobe
Anyhow, hope you all had a nice weekend!!
One last note, I wanted to give a quick shout out and thank you to Teal of Expecting Chic, who recently posted on her wonderfully cute & candid blog a snapshot of a few pregnant bloggers, including moi! Check out her site for a great style & parenting blog!

Tahoe & T- 6 weeks!
Why is it that 6 weeks away sounds so much scarier than 7 weeks away? I can't figure it out either. But this past Friday was 6 weeks from my due date... YIKES!
Aaron and I took a 5-day trip to Lake Tahoe to experience some of what you folks who don't live in the Bay Area call "summer." What a phenomenon! Sun, heat, bathing suits, sandy feet... glorious! Not to mention getting away from work for a few days to spend some quality time with each other before you-know-who arrives and demands all of our attention. Of course, I absolutely cannot wait for that day, but in the meantime, it was nice to have some 1 on 1 time with the hubs.
I had high aspirations of making this post a montage of outfits from the weekend, but let me tell you, this is the only outfit that should be seen! For any of you who believe I take the time to put myself together every day, thank you for your faith in me, but rest assured--most days I am tired and a wee bit raggedy. I did clean myself up Thursday night for a date night (dinner & a comedy show). Never underestimate the ease and comfort of a maxi dress and a belt when pregnant!
Dress: Loveapella (purchased off HauteLook)
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini (these gladiators are ancient and stretched out and uncomfortable...but I can't part with them)
Bag: Big Buddha

Showers & Serpents
Ever build your outfit around an accessory? Say a ring maybe? What else is a girl to do when she receives her new Amrita Singh serpent ring in the mail (purchased off HauteLook for something like 80% off the original price!)?
This outfit is certainly not spectacular, but hey, it's what I've got to offer at 33 weeks pregnant!
A special thank you to all of my lovely friends who attended my shower yesterday and "showered" me (and baby) with so many amazing gifts. Let me tell you, I am going to have one stylish little girl! And, I want to thank my mother for flying in from CO for the big day and for spending the weekend helping me prep for the little one's arrival! There's nothing better than having one's mother all to herself for a whole weekend!
Dress: Vertigo Paris
Studded Gold Belt: Michael Kors
Shoes: 9 West (OLD!)
Ring: Amrita Singh
