The Reverse Mullet Skirt (yes, you read that right)

I love this take on the maxi skirt--it's all business in the back, and all party in the front!

I wanted to do a day to night look, with "practical" (ok, let's be honest, when am I really practical) daytime shoe & bag, and then a chic shoe and clutch for night. I pulled these gold Steve Maddens out of my closet and had to give them a good dusting off as it's been years since I've worn them. I'm kind of feeling the pointy toe stiletto look again--what do you think? A do or a don't? The special thing about these shoes is that I was wearing them when I met my husband six years ago, at a swanky-themed party no less. Definitely worth hanging on to them, non?

Saturday Stroll

Nothing beats fresh air and lots of walking after being ill and stuck in bed/on the couch for countless days! Did anyone else get that beast of a cold that's going around? If so,  my condolences. If not, I suggest you make nice with some Emergen-C for the next, oh, say, three months!

Aaron and I ventured out to the Mission to walk around, grab a coffee, and enjoy the vibrant city streets. I promised to blog my Madewell boots as soon as I got them, but somehow they're just making their first appearance. I wear them all the time and despite their tall heel, I can walk in them for hours (about 3 1/2, to be exact) before my feet start to hurt. I love them not only because they're comfortable, but because they are so 70s yet so modern all at once. They were definitely a great buy.

So here's my not-very-festive New Year's Eve outfit. Kind of sad, huh? I just didn't have the energy to put on sparkles and dance the night away. I hope you all had a great time last night, and Happy New Year!

On the Street: Vanessa & the Art of Layering

Oy vey! I first need to apologize for my ridiculously long absence. I have no excuse, save that I have been coming home from work exhausted and have been terribly unmotivated. Bad, bad blogger!

That said, I'd like to introduce Vanessa. You'll probably see more of her here in the future (assuming she's willing!). I've seen her from time to time on the way to work (we take the same bus) and finally decided to ask her to be on my blog. She always looks adorable! I totally covet the jacket she's always wearing (see below). I particularly like her look here because she's got the quintessential San Francisco winter layers on.

I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful holiday season!
